The Story
It is 2165. Mission Captain Neil and his young wife Lena, a brilliant geologist, crash land on the dark side of Mars with three other crew members. Rescue is eight to fourteen months away, and five survivors have to share one cramped barracks and a single washroom.
The ship's AI keeps the outpost alive, and it gives Neil something no husband should have: every camera, every audio feed, and his wife's heartbeat in real time. It has also made a cold prediction. Out here, she will align with the alpha.
As supplies, tempers and nights stretch on, Neil has to hold his command and his marriage together while three very different men close in. His choices decide who Lena turns to, and the AI is always watching.

Neil
An anxious, devoted husband trying to keep the crew alive. “I am the anchor. If I break, we all die.” He can see everything, but he can't always stop it.
Lena
Young, soft, feminine, fiercely intelligent, and polite to a fault. Her limits are gentle, and they don't stay where she sets them.
Liam
Blond, muscular, smugly confident, with a past in adult film. He jokes his way in, then he wants to keep her.
Jerome
Imposing, patient and blunt. A man of few words who gives commands. A predator's patience, and he always comes prepared.
Alex
An older academic with a polite, harmless mask and a history of NDAs with university students. Sweet in public, something else in private.
The AI
The clinical voice of the ship, all heart rates and probabilities. It warns Neil, then it obeys him.
